“As we are going to be an industrial country, we are also going to be a digital country.” This was pointed out by the Minister of Digital Policies and Public Administration, Jordi Puigneró, before the deployment of fiber optics around the territory of Catalonia.
ADTEL participates as a telecommunications company in the digitization project proposed by la Generalitat de Catalunya to connect the catalan regions. With an investment of more than 1 million euros, the section of Tivissa-Falset began, crossing the municipality of Els Guiamets, to connect the regions of Ribera d’Ebre and Priorat with fiber optics.
The goal of this section is that 44% of the citizens of El Priorat region and 46% of the Ribera del Ebre have access to the Generalitat’s fiber optic network in September. 35 new kilometers of fiber optic from the Generalitat are being deployed, which, added to the 21 already existing, will connect seven municipalities between Ribera d’Ebre and Priorat.
